The MARCHE Awards dinner and presentation evening was held on Sunday 28th March 2010 at the ICC in Birmingham and once again The Abbey Hotel staff showed great success. Elizabeth Treadwell scooped a gold award winning the Receptionist of the Year category and the Abbey Hotel was a runner up for the established 'Outstanding Venue' award.John Hindson, General Manager, commented "this was an amazing result for both Elizabeth and for the hotel. We have a fantastic team at the Abbey, and, as in previous years, had finalists in most of the categories. I would like to congratulate Elizabeth on her success and also thank all of the staff who entered the MARCHE awards (photographed below)".
Lea Marston Hotel (the sister hotel of the Abbey) also performed exceptional scooping the gold award for Housekeeper of the Year and a second gold award for Food Service Assistant of the Year.
The MARCHE Awards (Midlands Association of Restaurants, Caterers, Hotels & Entertainment) were established in 1997 to encourage training, motivation and team building for organisations operating within the hospitality and leisure industries.
Competitions are held in various categories, and the winners of each section together with the 'Grand Finale' prize are announced at an Awards Night. This glittering evening is held each Spring at The International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
